With highlights including the sublimely eclectic Korean DJ/producer 250, stage takeovers from the likes of FuFu and Triple Happiness Club, plus a slew of respected local acts such as Totti and Major Tom, there’s sure to be an incredible atmosphere—and great memories to be made—at the Robot Stage.
6. Topper
Following its successful launch in March, the Topper Stage returns for our December edition to keep the vibes flowing between the live sets on the Harbourflap Stage.
With a focus on edgy-yet-accessible electronic music from across the globe, and a lineup featuring DJ Kulu B2B Suiki Lor, Daryll Griggs, Bad Bambino and many more, good times are in store at Topper all weekend long.
ARTS
Providing the perfect complement to the thrilling music lineup, Clockenflap’s arts programme is an essential part of the festival experience, serving up a spectacular selection of Instagrammable attractions and eye-opening audiovisual entertainment.
Look out for Anne Cubberly’s Giant Puppets, a pair of huge cat characters that will be roaming around the festival site and interacting with anyone they encounter; Alchemy Décor’s impressive flowing canopies featuring beautiful, immersive works of art; and this year’s Open Call winner, Heart to Heart, a mobile confessional booth and interactive installation from the enigmatic mind of multimedia artist Heart White, through which festivalgoers can share personal quandaries or secrets in an anonymous and intimate space.
There’s also Relentless Melt No. 30, featuring a special selection of abstract and psychedelic films co-curated by Clockenflap’s artistic director Jay Forster and video artist Max Hattler; new media art non-profit Videotage, present (RE)HABITATION, a visually astonishing journey into artists’ mental imagery of local cityscapes, and their attempts to reconfigure/reconstruct collective spatial memories through cutting-edge imaging techniques; and King Plum’s Sound Emporium x Om Peace, a two-day wellness programme curated by Ambikha Devi that includes gong baths, meditation, ‘Silent Disco Ecstatic Dance’ and shamanic drumming sound journeys, all taking place within a five-metre-diameter inflatable dome!
FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES
Families and children of all ages are always spoiled for choice at Clockenflap, and this year is no exception. Get hands on with intriguing arts and crafts workshops courtesy of Children’s Discovery Museum, let your imagination run wild with puppet-based performances from Treasure Chest Theatre, immerse in soothing sonic soundscapes with I Is One, and demonstrate your passion for percussion at the ever-popular Drum Jam.
